We’re excited to announce our first go at an introduction to Nonviolence as a way of life. We’ve created a short, information-packed brochure on the hows and whys to live “A Life Connected.” The brochures have already been wildly popular with folks from San Francisco to Denver to New York. We’ve even heard word that stacks of them have found their way to Connectors in Beijing, China. We’re connecting all over the world! The beautifully designed brochures were printed on tree-free paper using vegetable-based inks. We ask that folks kindly not throw them away... instead pass them on to share the joy of living A Life Connected. When you are able, we are so grateful for your donations to help support this valuable effort. And contact us to buy a box of 100, 500 or 1000 (or more!) and become a Connector in your community. Visit our accompanying website and view the brochure online at ALifeConnected.org. International Day Of Nonviolence.
Nonviolence United wishes Gandhi a happy birthday. Mohandas Gandhi, the revolutionary mind who introduced mass Active Nonviolence to the world, was born on October 2, 1869. Earlier this year the United Nations with sponsors from around the world declared October 2 an “International Day of Nonviolence.” It’s a day for people to get re-connected, engage in making the world a better place, educate others on the power of Nonviolence and reach out to those in need. Gandhi reminded people that each of us has within us the power to change and grow. We hope you’ll join the other good people in the world in reminding everyone of their potential for good. Help them to the path and lead by example. Live your values. Change the world.
The NEW NonviolenceUnited.org.
When you get a chance, take a look at our new website and let us know what you think. We’ve rebuilt and reorganized NonviolenceUnited.org. You’ll still find all the information from our old website on our Nonviolence Guide page. We hope the rest of the site is more clear, easier to navigate and good lookin’ too. Stay tuned. We’re also working on a video “School of Nonviolence,” an interactive video sharing site, helpful links for those on the Nonviolence path and much, much more! Practicing Nonviolence: Reflect On Your Path Of Nonviolence.
Many may first come to know Gandhi through his call to us, "We must become the change we want to see." On Gandhi's birthday and every day, please take the time to truly reflect on what that means. Think about how every action, every purchase, every choice made in the past built the world we live in today. And remember that every choice being made today will build the future. Think about the world as you wish it could be -- the change you want to see -- how would you act; what would you eat; how would you interact with others and the world? The answers and even the questions can be transformative. At every turn and with every moment, each of us has the chance to be that change, to make our lives better and to make the world a better place for everyone. Visit this page of ALifeConnected.org for ideas on everyday choices that can help build a better world. Words To Live By: "Live Your Values."
